International Opera Festival will take place in Chuvashia

The XXIII International Opera Festival named after M. D. Mikhaylov will be held in ChuvashRepublic from November 22 to 30 dedicated to the 200-th anniversary of the great Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi. The event has pre-determined the festival programme: the works by Verdi have made the headlines of the festival posters, reported Chuvash Theatre of Opera and Ballet .

By tradition, the festival will be crowned by opera first night. This time, the opera Othello will be presented to the public. Shakespeare tragedy was staged at Chuvash Theatre for the first time in 1995, at the festival the audience will see the opera in new theatrical version.
During the second day of the festival, on November 26, Chuvashia will welcome the first celebrity guests from leading theaters of Russia.

In Rigoletto play the main characters will be played by people's artist of Russia Viktor Chernomortsev and Zhanna Dombrovskaya (from Mariynsky Theatre) as well as the winner of international competitions Vladimir Cheberyak (Ekaterinburg State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre).
On November 28 Balgansuren Erdenetuyaa (Mongolia) and people's artist of Russia Oleg Kulko (Bolshoi Theatre) will appear in Aida.

On November 29 in La Traviata  the honored artist of Russia Vera Baranova (Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre) , the winner of international competitions Roman Shulakov (Bolshoi Theatre) and people's artist of the USSR Leonid Smetannikov (Saratov Opera and Ballet Theatre) will come on stage. The honoured artist of Russia Yuri Anisichkin (Voronezh State Theatre of Opera and Ballet) will be the conductor.
